RESEARCH AND WORK

Lasers, Flames, and Aerosols Laboratory - University of California, Irvine,  September, 2014 - Present

+ Currently leading a team of 3 undergraduate students through the design of an engine test stand which gathers engine emission and performance data mainly through Arduino and LabVIew.

+ Currently designing an electromechanical throttle control program that will autonomously run EPA drive cycle  test on a 50 cc single cylinder, water cooled, 4 cycle, fuel injected, SI engine.

Advanced Composites Research Engineering & Science  - University of California, Davis, February 2013- July 2014

+ Co-Authored an abstract accepted for the 2014 Mechanics of Composites  conference in New York.

+ Designed and built three environmental chambers for hygrothermal tests under various conditions.

+ Manufactured composite specimens using vacuum assisted resin transfer molding (VARTM)

+ Performed material tests using an MTS Dynamic Testing Machine and an Instron Impact Tester.

+ Managed a team of four undergraduate student researchers to produce  project deliverables.

+ Led the design, fabrication, and testing of an apparatus for performing concurrent mechanical and hygrothermal testing on a variety of composite specimens.

Baja SAE Member - University of California, Davis, May 2012- June 2013

+ Participated in a team of 15 engineering students that designed and manufactured a single seat off road buggy.

+ Independently designed and fabricated the gear shifter assembly for the 2013 buggy.

TEACHING

Teaching Assistant-ABT 16: Metal Properties and Fabrication, University of California, Davis, Fall Quarter 2012

+ Performed demonstrations in front of a class of 30+ students to teach them how to accomplish tasks in the metal shop.

+ Helped the students improve their various shop skills such as welding, and machining.

+ Designed and fabricated equipment, such as welding stations and storage units, in order to improve lab efficiency for current and future students.
